The outdoor community zabava is hosted at camp Bar-V-Nok at Pigeon Lake. For the first time, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Alberta Provincial Council brings their annual Ukrainian Day Festival to a beautiful Pigeon Lake for a unique community gathering! We welcome you to this family-friendly event. Join us for a picnic-style concert from 2-4 pm which will feature Zabava y Koli, Ihor Bohdan, as well as other talented Ukrainian musicians from both Edmonton and Calgary. Supervised children’s activities will include teacher-led dance classes, face painting, a photo booth, and more!

Sellf-Guided

We hosted youth art workshops in July to enhance the Ukrainian community celebrations and bring multiple groups together. We have completed several art installations across Alberta and we are truly proud of all our young and talented artists that came out to make it a huge success. The workshops let youth ages 7-18 participate in a guided art session as a part of our Ukrainian Day celebration. Participants were given an opportunity to create original visual artwork and learn drawing techniques in a group of other young community members.
We would like to thank the Consulate General of Ukraine in Edmonton for partnering with us for one of the workshops and the talented Ms. Nataliya Sharley for teaching the workshops. We also want to thank St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Parish and Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Parish for lending their spaces, and CYM Calgary for partnering with us to recreate the experience.
